Big Slick ‘24
The Big Slick Celebrity Weekend raises funds for the Children’s Mercy Cancer Center each year, and it’s always hosted by a handful of KC-born-and-raised stars. 2024 was our 15th year and proved to be our best year yet.
Over 15,000 people showed up to Big Slick’s events. The events earned more than 1B unique media impressions and were featured in 500+ media stories. Best of all, Big Slick raised a record-breaking $3.9 million for a total of 25 million overall for vital research to fight childhood cancer and to save lives.
2024 was my second year working on the annual event. I was apart of a very small but mighty team designing the overall campaign theme. We made everything from digital videos to swag items but some of my favorite projects for the year included:
Creating a custom guitar design that was then signed by the guests and auctioned off, raising almost $5K.
Fully redesigning and site mapping the entire website.
Creating the lighting design for Union Station that was lit up all weekend in honor of the event.
Creating multiple 30+ ft long immersive custom wall designs for the event itself.
